Kirk Hammett's Equipment list

ESP GUITARS

WaveCaster - Wave Machine
khwave.jpg (13005 bytes)

This very strange electric guitar has a hollow and transparent plexi-glass body which is filled with blue wave machine fluid. It has a rosewood fretboard, a standard ESP neck and a natural headstock. Its body design is an ESP Telecaster model.

As you can see in the picture on the left  the blue fluid separates into a blue and a clear one at the bottom when the guitar is not being moved.

M-II - Red Frankenstein graphic - 'THE MONSTER IS ALIVE!' khfranky.jpg (7026 bytes)

The guitar's body graphic shows Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's monster.  The eyes of Frankenstein's monster are lit up with two red lights.  In its inlays there is written "THE MONSTER IS ALIVE!".  The inlays' message start at the bridge and glow green in the dark.

M-II - Skull & Crossbones I

KH-1 - Flying V - Devil inlays khdevil.jpg (8490 bytes)

This electric-guitar is a black/white ESP KH-1 signature model. The Flying V body is composed of mahogany and the fretboard with the 22 extra jumbo frets of rosewood. The KH-1 was Kirk's very first ESP signature guitar. It contains one pickup and a single volume control.

This guitar is mainly used to be played D-tuned.

KH-2 - M-II - Skull & Crossbones II khskull.jpg (8303 bytes)

This electric-guitar is a black signature model which is based upon the ESP M-II series. Its hardware is black and the neck is bolt on the body.  It consists of an alder body, a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard and a Floyd Rose bridge.  A red "Caution HOT" sticker covers a large chip in the finish below the bridge + a small sticker above the neck pickup that says "Kirk's Guitar".

KH-2 - M-II - Ouija

khouija.jpg (8652 bytes)

This electric guitar is a ESP signature model which is based upon the ESP M-II serie. Its body consist of alder, the fingerboard (with 24XJ frets) of rosewood and the neck which is bolt on the body of maple.  The bridge is an original Floyd Rose bridge.

The Ouija board graphics are located between the pickups, and show a moon and a sun as well as on the graphics located at the edges of the guitar.

Its inlays show on the one hand a star within a half moon and on the other hand a singled star.

KH-2 - M-II - Boris Karloff Mummy graphic

(This guitar is Kirk's favorite)

khmummy.jpg (11569 bytes)

This electric guitar is a ESP signature model which is based upon the ESP M-II series. Its body is composed of alder, the fingerboard (with 24XJ frets) of rosewood and the neck which is bolt on the body of maple. The bridge is an original Floyd Rose bridge.

The body shows the original graphic of the movie "The Mummy" which is staring the actor Boris Karloff as the mummy. On the guitar's left horn there's written in a sort of hand writing font "It comes to life!"

KH-3 - Eclipse - Pushead Spider graphic

khspider.jpg (9513 bytes)

This electric-guitar is a black signature model which is based upon the ESP Eclipse series.  Its hardware is black and the neck is bolt on the body. It is composed of an alder body, a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard and a Floyd Rose bridge. The inlays are "Pushead Spider" and Skull & Crossbones.  Kirk placed a "Devil"- graphic at the top of the body and a slope sticker "13" below the spider during the "Load" Tour.

KH-4 - M-II - F**k You

khfyou.jpg (9541 bytes)

This electric-guitar is a black signature model which is based off the ESP M-II series.  It is composed of an alder neck-through body, a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard and a Floyd Rose bridge.  It has a white mother of pearl pickguard and at the 12th fret is written "F*ck You".  At the top of its headstock is a signature of Kirk.

kheclipse.jpg (8205 bytes)

This red steel-stringed semi-acoustic guitar is composed of a semi-hollow mahogany body with a bound maple top and a 22 extra-jumbo frets long rosewood fingerboard.  It contains a piezo electric pickup with an active EQ system.  Kirk uses this guitar to play acoustic parts in live shows.
